Rachel Deacon

Biography

Rachel Deacon was born in London and studied at Chelsea School of Art, graduating in 1991. She bases her work on a narrative, using short stories or poetry as inspiration and creating a scene or an idea in drawings.

Focusing mainly on the female figure, shapes and contours of the body are used to create a strong composition, coupled with rich colours, shadow and an ambience of light.

Rachel is inspired by such painters as Paula Rego and Frida Khalo. She has exhibited her work many times in this country and currently lives and works in London where the majority of her exhibitions are held.
